MercyMinder Privacy Policy
Your privacy is important to us. To better protect your privacy, we provide this notice explaining our policy. You must agree to the terms in this Policy to submit a benevolence request to the organization that is using MercyMinder.
Collection of data
MercyMinder enables approved churches and other approved benevolence organizations to share information about benevolence requests. By sharing this information these organizations can tailor the assistance they offer to you in light of your background and history as a recipient of benevolence. Therefore, MercyMinder collects information such as personally identifiable information, your income, and your specific needs.
Disclosure of data
MercyMinder will use your information so that the organization handling your benevolence request can tailor a plan for you. To provide this service, MercyMinder will allow the organization to access your personal data and your stored history of benevolence requests and plans. The details of your past and current benevolence requests and plans will be available to other organizations who are enrolled in the MercyMinder system.
MercyMinder may further use the aggregate information to study statistical results and produce summary reports. Such reports may be shared with MercyMinder partners as well as the public, but the reports will not disclose personally identifiable information.
Other than the uses stated above, MercyMinder will not disclose any of your personally identifiable information without your permission except under special circumstances, for instance if the maintainer of MercyMinder in good faith believes that the law requires disclosure.
Except as noted above, any information collected by MercyMinder will be treated confidentially.
As a condition for using the MercyMinder system, approved organizations must agree to treat your information confidentially and only for the purpose intended.
Correcting/Updating/Storing Personal Information
You may review and correct personally identifiable information at the time you submit any benevolence application. Details of the benevolence application or benevolence plan cannot be changed after they are submitted. Your benevolence history will be available to all approved organizations for three years. After three years, only the organization that received the benevolence request will have access to that request or plan.
MercyMinder’s Security Policy
MercyMinder stores and transmits information electronically so that approved organizations can access it. Whenever MercyMinder handles personal information, the system includes every precaution to ensure that your information is treated securely, for instance by encrypting the information with SSL and by storing the information in a secure environment. Only approved organizations have access to the information through password-protected accounts.
Unfortunately, no data transmission over the Internet can be guaranteed to be 100 percent secure. As a result, while we strive to protect your personal information, MercyMinder cannot ensure or warrant the security of any information you submit to MercyMinder, and you do so at your own risk.
